According to Advantedge's general manager distribution Brett Halliwell, over the past 12 months Australia's non-banks have reached maturity and become a true alternative to the majors.
"Australian borrowers have genuine choice when it comes to their home loan, thanks to a competitive and robust lending industry driven in part by our evolving non-bank sector," Mr Halliwell said.
"Advantedge will continue to drive innovation across non-bank lending, helping our origination partners offer alternatives to the big four while helping customers enjoy the benefits of dealing with a smaller, nimbler and more personalised lender."
According to Mr Halliwell, mortgage managers and originators have evolved their offering and offer a stable and competitive proposition that is gaining traction with customers.
"Our business is really about our customers – and that's mortgage managers; it's also about being committed to the third party channel in terms of the products that we offer – including our white label capabilities," Mr Halliwell said.
Last night, Advantedge took home the Best Wholesale Funder award at the second annual 2012 Australian Lending Awards.
Held at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney, the Australian lending Awards are the only awards program dedicated exclusively to achievement within the mortgage lending industry.
Advantedge has now won this prestigious accolade two years running, with the award judges highlighting the wholesale funder's continued innovation to delivering products and services across a number of funding channels.
Mr Halliwell said recognition as Australia's leading wholesale funder for the second year running reflected the business' ongoing drive to support wholesale lending in Australia while championing the capabilities of mortgage originators and managers to ensure competition in the mortgage market.
