Earlier this week, Bankwest appointed its chief executive business banking, Mark Reid, to the role.
Mr Reid has long had a strong affiliation with the broker channel, having previously held the role of head of retail sales at the bank.
Mr Reid has worked closely with the broker channel for the past couple of years and, according to the new CEO, retail, this is unlikely to change anytime soon.
Speaking about his appointment, Mr Reid said the bank would continue to have a strong focus on the broker channel and do all it could to support this burgeoning sector.
“Our brokers can continue to expect 100 per cent commitment to them, their aggregator and the broker channel in its entirety,” Mr Reid said.
According to Mr Reid, the next 12 months will be about improving the lender’s service proposition with a focus on quality, increasing Bankwest’s market share and reconfirming its strong challenger brand.
“We are extremely proud of our ongoing product innovation with a product suite that offers life of loan discounts with both short- and long-term attractiveness to brokers and their customers,” he said.
“The year ahead will be no different, we will continue to innovate and stay ahead of the market with sharp products and great offerings.”
