Bec was born and bred in Port Macquarie on the Mid North Coast of Australia. After graduating year 12 Bec thought she would need to relocate to the city to follow her career aspirations. Bec has since established a successful business in her hometown and is redefining the customer mortgage experience.

How did you start down this career path?

Prior to establishing Farnsworth Financial I spent almost 12 years in the Banking industry. I commenced in Banking in 2012 when I was 19 years old. During my time, I held a number of roles across multiple brands including Personal Banker, Home Finance Manager, Mobile Lender, Branch Manager and Credit Manager. In 2019, I took maternity leave and had two baby girls to complete our family of three beautiful girls. I have always loved what I do, and I wanted to establish a business that I had complete control over which would allow me to enhance the customer experience and ensure the client is at the centre of everything that we do. I wanted to build a brand that encompasses my core values of simplicity, education, honesty and flexibility and provides the customer with an unforgettable experience.

What inspires you in your role/industry? Why?

My why comes from seeing my clients achieve their financial dreams. It is so satisfying to see my clients kicking their goals and to know that I have played a part in that by understanding their needs and what is truly important to them. Obtaining finance can be daunting and stressful if you do not have the right people in your corner. Often clients come to me when they are making the biggest decisions in their lives or have a goal in mind but do not know how to achieve it. I have been able to use my knowledge and skills that I have gained through my time working in the industry to turn a daunting experience into a seamless, positive customer experience.

What's your approach to customer service that separates you from the rest?

Farnsworth Financial puts the customer at the heart of everything that we do. We emphasise a personalised and proactive approach to customer service that sets us apart from our competitors. My extensive customer service experience has assisted Farnsworth Financial to identify pain points in the lending process and work to overcome these. Some examples include implementing flexible appointment times and modes outside of normal working hours, catering for time poor clients. Transparent and regular communication is key to relieve anxieties that clients face when waiting for loan approvals. Farnsworth Financial prides itself of being available to our clients when they need us most. Efficiency and speed mean a lot in the mortgage industry so ensuring that we act with urgency to achieve positive outcomes for our clients supports our positive customer experience.

What are you most proud of since launching Farnsworth Financial?

I am proud of all the clients that I have helped and the lives I have changed since launching Farnsworth Financial. I am proud of my 100% client satisfaction rate and not losing a single existing client to another business in my 2 years of operation. So far in 2024 I have also won the Coastline Credit Union Greater Port Macquarie Business Award for the Financial Services Category, been a finalist in the 2024 MFAA NSW State Excellence Awards for the Newcomer Award and am now a finalist in the Australian Broking Awards for 2024 for New Broker Of The Year.

Can you share a memorable story where Farnsworth Financial was able to significantly impact a clients Financial Situation

I had a young family approach me at the end of 2022. They had lived in their current rental for the past 10 years and had 5 children, 4 of which had a disability which meant mum stayed at home and cared for the children. The owner of their rental had decided to sell and the clients approached me after being knocked back for a loan by multiple lenders to purchase the home. The loan was small compared to the average loan in my area and there were a number of factors affecting the application which made the clients feel like it was all too hard. I took the time to understand the clients situation and due to my large panel of lenders, I was able to place them with a lender that met their specific requirements. By working with Farnsworth Financial these clients were able to achieve their home ownership dream that they thought was out of reach.
