There are a few options available to us, including a lunch tour of the vineyards, but I choose not to partake in any of the planned activities.
It is absolutely stinking hot here and the thought of drinking wine (or should I say more wine) does not appeal to me.
As such, I spent the morning getting lost in the beautiful Venice for a few hours. Of course, being so hot, all I want to do is swim, so a few of us plan to head out to Lido beach in the afternoon.
After catching a water taxi to the beautiful beach, the afternoon is spent in absolute luxury. I divide my time between relaxing in a cabana and swimming in the ocean – which feels like a warm bath.
Before too long, the day is over and it is time to get ready for our pre-dinner aperitif function held in St Mark’s Square – the largest and most infamous piazza in Venice.
St Mark’s Square, or Piazza San Marco, is the principal public square of Venice and it is one of the few remaining spaces in Europe where human voices prevail over the sounds of motorized traffic.
Drinks at the piazza are followed by a CBA dinner at the Westin, right on the water.
With all the networking, drinking and eating I’m doing on this trip I have no doubt I am going to return a few kilos heavier!
Night falls and the buildings light up along the water, it's an amazing sight and great way to end our time in Venice.
Tomorrow we travel to Florence where we will dine at Vicchiomaggio Castle in the Tuscan countryside!
Til tomorrow,
Ciao,
Melissa xo
