It is an early start, with boats and trains in our travel itinerary for the day.
All in all, the trip takes a few hours, with the various bankers and brokers split amongst a few different carriages on the train. Thankfully, my carriage was a load of fun.
The Bankwest team had us all in stitches playing music and movie trivia. Westpac took on ANZ in a battle of wits and general knowledge.
I can’t even remember who won; all I know is I didn’t stop laughing the whole trip. It was a really excellent way to pass the time.
After arriving in Florence, we rome the streets (excuse the pun), taking in the various sights this magnificent city has to offer.
There is so much history and culture in Florence that it is impossible not to fall in love with this place.
Later in the night, all of the key delegates, stakeholders and brokers are transported by bus to the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
Before too long we pull up outside a castle that is simply stunning. It overlooks the Italian vineyards that seemingly stretch on forever.
Again, and in fine AFG form, the food is outstanding and the local wine is amazing.
The night is full of laughs and wine (the bus ride home providing much entertainment).
I can’t wait to see what AFG has planned for the final day and night of the conference, including the all important Gala Dinner.
Stay tuned....
Ciao,
Melanoli (it is my new Italian name)
