SFG appoints new national operations manager

The aggregation group has hired a former PLAN Australia partnerships manager and BDM as its national operations manager.

Perth-based aggregator Specialist Finance Group (SFG) has welcomed Simon Munkelt to the company in the new role of national operations manager.

In his new role, based in the group’s Perth head office, he will be responsible for “reviewing and improving all operations of the SFG business model”.

Mr Munkelt was previously the partnerships manager in WA for PLAN Australia, and had worked extensively with PLAN’s WA brokers and business partners over his 18-year career with the group.

He also has experience in securitised lending, having worked as a BDM at WA Home Loans (which later became Homeloans Ltd) between 1997-2000.

SFG welcomed Mr Munkelt to the group, stating he was a “great appointment” given his extensive experience with the broking industry and “the close working relationship” he already has with a large number of SFG’s members and business partners.

Mr Munkelt said he was looking forward to working with the SFG management and staff along with all of its members and business partners to improve the company’s systems and processes, adding he loves nothing more than to “roll up his sleeves and get to work”.
