Abacus appoints new director

Railways Credit Union chief executive officer Julianne Plath has been appointed to the role of director on the Abacus Australian Mutuals board.

At its annual general meeting on Sunday, Ms Plath was appointed to the role of director for the next three years.

According to a statement by Abacus, Ms Plath brings significant experience to the Abacus Board having been part of the industry for 27 years.

In addition to Ms Plath’s appointment, Don Magin was re-elected for a further year as chair and a further three-year term as a director.

Victoria Teachers’ Mutual Bank chief executive William Wolke was also re-appointed as a director for the next three years, while director Scott King formally resigned at the AGM.

Mr King served on the Board since the company’s inception in 2009, playing an integral role in the development, growth and progress of Abacus.
