The lender was recognised for disrupting the way small business lending works, by offering small business owners unsecured loans of between $5,000 and $250,000.
Over the past five years, Prospa has reportedly settled more than $400 million into the Australian small business economy through over 12,000 loans to small business owners.
Speaking of the award, Beau Bertoli, joint CEO of Prospa, commented: “We’re honoured to be the first fintech company recognised as NSW’s top medium-sized business. We believe this win highlights Australia’s changing attitudes towards startups and confidence it has in the fintech industry.
“We owe this achievement to the continued success of the small businesses we support, and the unmatched commitment of each and every one of our team members to execute our ambitious business goals.”
Greg Moshal, joint CEO of Prospa, added: “Prospa is one of Australia’s fastest growing technology companies, and we’re proud to have been commended for our work.”
Mr Moshal noted that the award came in the same week that Prospa celebrated its fifth birthday, and said he looked forward to “continuing to solve problems for small business owners and supporting the growth of the two million small businesses across Australia”.
