Almost 600 brokers and other industry figures gathered at the Gold Coast’s Sea World Resort last Friday to learn how to build their business at the FBAA’s annual conference.
This year’s conference, titled “The Year of Distinction”, was hosted by former Australian test cricketer and media commentator Max Walker, and featured presentations by a number of keynote speakers including marketing guru Debbie Mayo-Smith, personal stylist Joshua Heath and performance expert Tony Wilson.

Conference attendees were then treated to a fireworks display at Movie World before enjoying a 1920s-themed gala dinner hosted by comedian Marty Fields.
“It was probably the best industry conference I’ve been to in decades, and I’ve been to heaps,” FBAA chief executive Peter White told The Adviser.
“The balance was right – it wasn’t heavily weighted in any direction. Everyone said they thoroughly enjoyed it, and it gave a chance for some of the boutique players in the market to engage with hundreds of brokers.”
