Alicia Carter, national sales manager at Australian Financial, said these roles have given Mr Myers experience in auto and dealer finance, specialist lending, prime mortgage lending and a vast range of commercial and business solutions, as well as coaching and mentoring high performers and executives.
“Given his broad background, I’m really looking forward to the diversity he will bring to the team,” she said.
“He will be making contact with brokers shortly to meet all the great people and characters that make up our mortgage industry.”
Mr Myers told The Adviser he was excited to be working in the new role.
“One of my passions is problem-solving and working through scenarios to conclusion, so it’s exciting to be back in the saddle in a more hands-on way,” he said.
“I spent the last four to five years in a coaching role where my clients were primarily business and banking executives, so it will be good to take that practical knowledge and follow through with it.
“One of the frustrations as a coach is that you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink, so it’s exciting to have that connection back to goals and financial outcomes,” Mr Myers said.
